Yep, still for sale......

Remember my blog 19 months ago with a picture of our "For Sale" sign.....well, it's still here!!  We are stuck in the middle of the worst housing market in decades and from what we hear, it isn't going to get any better for 2-3 years.  Well, we ain't waiting that long!! As you can see by the sign, it says "New Price". Believe me, that is not the only new price. I think we have dropped the price 4-5 times. I've lost count so don't hold me to that. We have not had anyone even looking at the house since February, I believe (I've lost track of that too). Then again, a house like ours sold across the street in one week!  Now, that's depressing, frustrating and just all around stinks!! And to top it off, since we put the house on the market, we have had to put in a new hot water heater and some work done on the furnace. So, we are busy sticking more money into it but lowering the price. But the best part is that if we would have sold 3 1/2 to 4 years ago, we would have gotten twice of what we are asking now and it would have been gone in a month.  'Would of, could of, should of' and you can't turn back time.

When I was down in Tennessee from February till April, I realized that I WANT to be THERE!!  There is nothing left for us here in Milwaukee.  We raised our kids, we had our careers and we are retired and ready to move on. Wisconsin will still be our home state but as far as a "home" goes, I now consider Tennessee my home. And, Grandpa feels the same. We had to plant some flowers in around the house to make it look nice and as we were putting them into our trunk at Steins, Grandpa said "We should be doing this in Tennessee".  Ain't that the truth!!

I are not going to make the profit on our house that we had hoped for. We have resigned ourselves to that fact. Now, it's just a matter of moving on and saving my sanity before I have to start painting all over again! I hate this feeling of being 'stuck' in limbo and we will not be spending another winter in Wisconsin......so, if anyone out there wants to buy a house, we got a real deal for ya!!

Actually, if it isn't sold by August, we have a couple interested in renting it. At least the will help offset the cost of the real estate taxes that we are still paying on it....not to mention the utilities and upkeep. I guess it's always nice to have a Plan B when Plan A ain't working!
