Let's catch up.....shall we?

I know I have posted since we have arrived in Tennessee but I would like to take you back to the last photos that I took at our Milwaukee house before we left and the short stories behind them........

Yes, we do have an accepted offer for our house....finally....after 2 years!  However, it still has not closed due to a few 'kinks' that came up and needed to be ironed out between the buyer, their agent and their lender. Originally, it was to be closed on the 8th but it is now scheduled for the 30th. But, we are thinking positive, our agent is thinking positive and I have checked and the stars are scheduled to be aligned on that day. As we settle into our new home in Tennessee and comment on things that we want to change, buy, fix, etc.......our new saying is "Gotta wait for that big check". I will breath a big sigh of relief when we get word that it is actually, truly SOLD!!

This is our grape ivy plant that hung in our kitchen for I don't know how long. When we first planned our move, I thought I would have to find it a new home and I have to admit, it broke my heart. I really did not think it would make the trip and I would have to leave it behind. But then Grandpa suggested hacking it down, bringing it along and hope for the best. So, we took it outside, chopped it down and it road in my trunk for the trip to Tennessee. I'm happy to say that it is now sitting in a sunny spot in front of our patio door and I think I can see a few new leaves appearing. Will keep you posted on it's progress but it looks like it just stay with us!

This is the contents of our attic in our house in Milwaukee. Check out the old, old baby walker! This stuff has been up in that attic for over 30 years and to tell you the truth, I thought for sure that there would have been more up there but this is it. Some of the 'great finds' were our high school year books, baby clothes and blankets from when the girls were babies (along with that walker which I'm sure was made illegal years ago) napkins from our wedding and our very first artificial Christmas tree. It was like traveling in a time machine when we went through this collection from our lives of 'years ago' but fun. Some was tossed but some of it was saved. You know, there are just some things that you cannot part with like our 1968 prom photo which made the cut and is now on display in our new home. If anything, it's good for a chuckle to look at....gee, I must have weighed about 100 lbs. back then!  Fat chance of that ever happening again (pun intended)!!

That finishes up our trip down memory lane with our home in Milwaukee. Now, we are in Tennessee and busy fixing up a new home; a new home with a 'blended' family that includes our daughter, Michele, and her three daughters, Trinity (8), Madison (7) and Lexi (7 mos.). We now live in a world of plastic plates and cups, baby food and formula, helping with homework, the scent of a load of freshly washed baby clothes and my favorite....watching out the window for everybody to get home from their busy day of school, day care and work!!  And you know what? I wouldn't change it for the world!!

They did it.....yes, they did!!!

Even though we are now living in Tennessee, we still cheer for the Packers and of course, the Brewers. Leave it to them to win a championship AFTER we move out of the city!! But, that's ok....it's still exciting and here is my photorama of the big game, the fun and the excitement........

The team.......

The dance.........

The fans........

The well-deserved celebrating.......

Thank you Brewers for bringing the fun of baseball back to Milwaukee!

I'm Back..........

Yeah, my first blog from Tennessee!! I know it isn't much but we have been sooooooo busy with our move. We all (including our belongings) got here safe and sound but STILL unpacking boxes so until I can sit down for longer than 20 minutes to write something worth reading, please enjoy the following quote. It's perfect and so true!
