Blue Birthday Cake (Part II)

I have decided that all cakes baked for the kids from now on will be decorated by their own little hands. It was just so much fun watching John and Izzy's imaginations taking over with a "blank canvas". All I need to know is what color cake is needed, plain white frosting will be the standard and then supply whatever decorations are requested for the top. I want to thank John for helping Grandma out on his cake....Grandpa and I did not have much luck at the $ store finding stuff for his dinosaur cake, but John knew what to do. He dug in his toy box!!!

So, we had trees, a volcano and even rocks to add to the decorations.  John was the perfect gentleman letting his little sister help with the prehistoric theme while us adults just sat back and watched them take over and create an extravaganza (you could almost hear the dinosaurs roar).

But, John wasn't finished with just the trees, volcano and rocks he found.....he dragged out some of his favorite dinosaurs (by the way, John knows the name of every one of them) to really make the cake a masterpiece!  Luckily, we had room left for the five candles (actually, thanks to Izzy I think we had six candles on the cake) but had to make sure we lit them and and have John blow them out fast....with all that plastic on that cake, we were worried that volcano just might erupt!

Yep, after watching all that fun and little hands at work, "Grandma's Birthday Cakes" was born!

P.S.  Actually, John's cake did not turn out exactly blue....more of a teal color but he could have cared less!
