It's only June 16th and we are already getting our crop of raspberries. Usually, we don't see these little beauties until around the 4th of July so needless to say, it is a pleasant surprise. When the plants started to come up and bloom for the season, they were not as full and high as they usually have been over the many years that we have had them. There is one spot in the middle of the patch that actually looks bare (hardly any plants) which is really unusual. Most years you have to fight your way through the foilage to get to the berries, but I don't think we are going to have that problem this year. But, there are still plenty of raspberries on the vines. Even though we would rather be in our new home in Tennessee by now, we get to enjoy one more crop of Grandpa's delicious raspberries and you certainly cannot complain about that!
Get the vanilla ice cream ready.......

It's REQUIRED that we have raspberries in the new garden. That demand comes from the CEO of the company.
I will pass that on to our head horticulturist.
