Or, has anyone else found it hard to get into over-the-counter medicine these days if it is packaged as the ones below and in a bottle? Geese-Louise......some of this stuff is not only 'child proof' but 'adult proof' and practically 'bomb proof'! I'm not kidding. Not only have I lost many fingernails trying to bust out a couple of pills but also have had the pointy little corners of this hard packaging jammed under my fingernails in the futile attempt to get some relief from a throbbing sinus headache. And see those little perferations for tearing them apart - just a tease. There is no way that you are going to RIP those apart with your bare hands! If you don't have a pair of scissors, you're sunk! In fact, I have found that my scissors are my best friend when it comes to the "battle of the packaging". They should sell a little pair with every package of these drugs....only because I've been there....trying to open them up and not able to find my scissors. The more you hunt, the harder your head pounds, the harder your head pounds, the madder you get and before you know it, you are ripping into them with your teeth; and with my luck, I would break off one of my caps and try to explain THAT to my dentist who by the way, is very protective of my teeth. I don't need to add to the excitement of my day, especially if I'm still battling the headache.
Well, I'm here to share a little secret of mine when it comes to these pills on "rip-off tabs". Now, after I purchase my medication of choice (I take Musinex D - did you you know that you have to show your drivers license to get this from the druggist - I guess it has some ingredient in it that drug dealers LOVE to buy to mix with other wonderful drugs, repackage and sell on the street corners - no doubt on the corners by schools), I take it home, get out my friend the scissors and cut apart the entire package and deposit the pills in an empty pill bottle (who doesn't have an empty pill bottle laying around?) And, forget cutting on the perferations; I cut smack dab along the side of the pill (caplets?) which leaves very little easy-to-wrip paper to worry about to be able to pop those babies out!! WHOLA! The next time your head is pounding from sinus congestion or whatever pain your might be taking those pills for, all you have to do is open up the bottle and shake them out. Another thing, if you don't have kids in the house, skip those child-proof caps unless you want to knawing away on a plastic pill bottle - your dentist would love that!!
I'm a "pill-popper" and the easier, the better!!!
