Hi there from Tennessee! The sun is shining and I was in "cleaning" mode today. After Shelly and the girls left, I broke lose and started cleaning; eating my yogurt on the run. It felt so good! Ever since I finished getting our house cleaned out and spruced up for sale, I have really missed the feeling of waking up with a new cleaning or painting challenge waiting for me. So, I was in my glory today! I didn't even turn on the T.V. but played Christmas CD's.....loudly!! Sometimes you just have to blast that music to make cleaning fun.....now on to the title of this blog.....
Shelly and the girls have been very blessed with wonderful friends and grandparents; not to mention the second-hand stores that she has learned to patronize. Until Grandpa and I move permanently to Tennessee, the dining room is the "play room" so there are toys, LOTS of toys!! My favorite are the Pollys with all their teeney-tiny clothes (I think I sucked a shoe up in the vacumm today....but that's between you and me) who can keep Madison entertained for hours. And crayons, puzzles, stuffed toys, books, but also a lot of odd parts and pieces of toys that are long gone. The first time Trinity dragged out the big checker set so I could play with her, she was missing one whole row of black pieces and these are as big as your basic English muffin! So, we ended up playing with only two rows of each color and now I know why there are as many pieces in a checker set as there are......with less, NOBODY can win and the game never ends!! I think before we head back to Wisconsin, I will be dumping that huge toybox upside down and "simplying" this whole toy debockle. If there is a puzzle missing a piece, out it goes. If a crayon is only half-size, in the trash, if Barbie has only one black high heel shoe, gone! She certainly cannot gimp around in one heel. It might get ugly but it needs to be done!!
Next up......"Clothes - Isn't 20 pair of pants a bit much for a five year-old?"
