When Shelly posted the top photo of Trinity (age 8) on Facebook, I have to admit that I was completely blown away! She's really starting to look like a 'young lady' instead of a 'little kid' and it hit me that our grandchildren are growing up way too fast! Granted, we can't stop them but geeze, can they just slow down a little? Some would say with them growing up so fast, it makes us feel older. I never really think about my age so that's not the case with me. What I think about is all the things that we are missing; how they are changing and I just want the chance to take it all in. I want to see it all and be a part of all of it. But of course this makes it a little difficult when one set of grandchildren are here in Wisconsin (Madison) and the other set is in Tennessee. And when we finally relocate to Tennessee, we will still be so far away from one set. This is why we are always nagging their mothers to "send pictures"!! It's the next best thing to being there and makes us feel just that little bit closer to them.
The second photo is Shelly when she was about 8 years of age age. When I saw that photo of Trinity, I realized how much she looks like her mom did around that age. I knew this photo was buried somewhere in "photo land" (otherwise known as my 'box of pictures' and here it is. Yep, I would say that these two look quite a bit alike....at least at this time in their lives. We'll have to see if it continues.
Make Grandma and Grandpa happy and SEND photos!!!
