February 2011 Blizzard - Milwaukee

This is shot of the house across the street.  See the drift in front of the back door.....well, we had the same thing. You certainly can tell which way the high winds were blowing.

A picture from our patio door of our garage...amazing how the winds made such high drifts in some places and absolutely nothing in others.

This is our next door neighbor's back door.....the same mess we all had to deal with trying to get out of our houses. (Way down in the left corner....section of their driveway bare and then the drift)

This is a picture of looking out our back door at the top of our snow drift.....there was no going out this door or the front door for that matter. I actually had to go out the patio door, shovel out the gate to get to the front of our house. I fell twice trying to get there.

This is the 'after' shot of the first picture (the neighbor across the street).  I would say it took everyone a good two days to shovel themselves out and there was no cars trying to get down our street at least for the first day.

Looking down our street from our front window.....see the branch stuck in the snow. The winds were really high and left a lot of these branches behind. Down the street, one house even lost a whole limb.

My favorite shot.  This is the window in our den.  Yes, that is snow inside (between the windows). Evidentally, the storm window was not snugly in place and the winds were so high that they blew snow right in. If I opened up the window from the inside, snow fell into our house.  Fun!

Well, I promised you photos of our 2011 blizzard so I hope you enjoyed them. Sorry about some of them being blue....don't know why. Maybe because I took them from inside?  Then again we do have the first digital camera known to man (it actually uses a floppy disc) so maybe that could be the reason. It's ok, I don't want to ever see these pictures again anyway!!
