Grandpa and I thought we were finished shopping for babies after Miss Isabelle was born but to our surprise, God decided to give us one more whack at it with the upcoming birth of our 5th grandchild; and 4th granddaughter in February. When we were anticipating the birth of our first grandchild 8 years ago, I could not believe how baby stuff had changed over the years. I was practically mesmerized just walking into the baby department in a store....but it didn't stop me from spending money! In fact, my motto became "I'm Grandma, therefore I shop". Grandpa baically left all the baby shopping up to me (he's not really a shopper to begin with and he says I make him nuts by walking around in circles so he would prefer to stay at home) but this time he took a more active role. He picked out the yarn for the baby blanket I would knit. All grandchildren get a knitted baby blanket handmade by Grandma. And, he was the one who spotted the 20% off coupon in the mail from Kohls last week so we planned a little shopping spree for Wednesday and here's our loot for little Lexi.
Isn't everything just adorable......and PINK!! We tried to find more yellow and green but was out of luck; probably because everyone had gotten there before us and snatched up all the jammies that were of the neutral colors. Check out the sleepers on the right. Actually, they are like mini sleeping bags with arms! Put baby in there and their little legs stay warm without the chance of them getting tangled up in the blankets causing accidental smothering. So, of course, we needed some of those (I also found another one on sale at Walmart the next day). And yes, the sleeper way on the left has little bunny feet...just couldn't pass that up! When Shelly had her baby shower in November, most of the clothes that she received are bigger so we were on the hunt for 0-3 month size.....so tiny and cute!!
Now we are on the hunt for cloth diapers.....to use as burp clothes and like Shelly said "for a million other uses." Gee, we used cloth diapers as diapers when our daughters were born....my, how things have changed!!
