Happy Harvest!!

That's what they say in Tennessee at this time of the year.  They still do Halloween but they are more into harvest time so the decorations you see will be mostly pumpkins, scarecrows, straw bales, corn stalks and colored corn; not many witches or goblins to be found. Shelly has sort of gotten into dressing the girls in nursery rhyme characters since the people in the South don't really go for that scary stuff and last year Trinity was Goldilocks and Madison was a Bubble Bath.  Don't know what she has planned for this year but I'm sure it will be something handmade from stuff around the house.

Above are 4 of our 5 pumpkins from our garden here in Milwaukee.  The 5th one isn't quite ripe yet but these little guys were ready to be displayed.  Two are on our front porch with the other two still on the patio.  As you can see, we had very good luck this year with our pumpkins.

In a couple of weeks we will be heading to Madison for the annual Maier "Pumpkin Farm Visit" which is always fun with John and Isabelle. This event will be greatly missed when we move to Tennessee since we have been doing it for so many years with them. Hope we have a beautiful sunny day this year. You just never know what the weather will be like at this time of the year in Wisconsin. As long as it doesn't rain!!
