NOT what you want to read on a FAT day!!

"If you embrace moderation, eat whole foods instead of junk, live within your physical, monetary, and environmental budget rather than constantly exceeding it, you will lose weight, tread more lightly on the planet, and gain satisfaction from these things.”    — Mark Bittman

Now, this is not something I want to read when I wake up, take one look in the mirror and know that it's a 'fat' day. Some of you may not know what a 'fat day' is but us women who have been around-the-block a few times or should I say "down the diet path" more times than we want to count know what a FAT day is!  You might as well admit it....you are, afterall, among friends.  Also known as "The Day After".  The day after a holiday, a party, a picnic, a special dinner. Heck, you can have a 'fat' day just BECAUSE!

I especially like the part "....live within your physical, monetary, and environmental budget....", ah,, what does that exactly mean and what does that have to do with eating junk food while embracing moderation?  And, of course, if you lose weight, you will tread more lightly on the planet.....you'll even tread more lightly on the scale too. Duh!

I would also like to know what this Mark (who has probably never had a 'fat' day in his life) person considers "junk" when it comes to food.  I mean....one man's junk food is another man's good old fashioned snack!  Has chocolate ever crossed his lips?  When he has binged on a whole bag of chocolate kisses, and walks away with a big smile, he can talk to me about what constitutes 'junk' food.

To make the long story short, we ALL know that if we want to lose a pound or two, we have to close our mouths and quit shoveling in the food and pick up the exercise.  I mean it's common sense.  However, I would like to thank Mark for putting it so eloquently and I'll be sure to remember his words when I eat that next brownie; in moderation, of course!
