Catching up on my 'blogslacking'......

Time at the Lake

Yes, I will be the first to admit that I have earned the title of 'blogslacker', although I think Becky is not far behind me with Grandpa waaaaaaaaay behind!  Thank goodness Shelly is picking up the slack so we have something entertaining to read.  But, that's only because she has discovered the lake, water sports and has a on-again, off-again boyfriend with a wave runner and two cute little kids. Add to that she now works a regular week of Mon-Fri with the weekends off and she is taking full advantage of them.  So, on most weekends you will find Shelly at the lake on Saturday or Sunday or Saturday AND Sunday enjoying the lake breezes, relaxing and watching the kids frolic in the water.  Our house in Tennessee is very near Douglas Lake (in fact, we looked at a few houses in that area) and from what I hear, it has a nice quiet beach and is a nice place to hang out especially for the kids on these hot days.  Madison has acquired the nickname of "Speed Dog" because of her fun-to-watch 'dog-paddle' in her Speedo life jacket.  And, once she gets IN the lake, it is very hard to get her back OUT because she loves it so much. 

One important thing Shelly has learned from her time on the beach.  You are no immuned from the sun whether you think you have a nice 'base' or not......SUNSCREEN!!  It took her one time of getting fried to learn that.  And, a big hat is a MUST! If you follow these simple rules, your time at the beach, too, will be more enjoyable.

As for my blockslacking....will try to pick up the pace!!  Then again, Grandpa and I are taking a lot of walks AND there's a new game on Facebook....but then again, that could be a good topic for a blog....Frontierville!!
