The month of May. It's like a new beginning, don't you think? The grass is truning waking up and turning green from being dormant or buried in snow all winter, the trees are budding (causing havoc for those of us with allergies), plants are starting to sprout up and the wonderful feeling that the cold and snow are gone for a while and we can enjoy the beautiful weather and spend more time outside.
For us, this May brings other changes and new beginnings in our lives. Grandpa retires at the end of this month, starting his new life of "casual" living, no phone call to make every morning to see where his job is for the day, no more worries of hurting his back (or any other part of his body) again on the job. Looking forward to the a new chapter in his life.....all well-earned, well-deserved and exciting to look forward to.
Our Milwaukee house is on the market; hoping it will sell soon so we can relocate to Tennessee to our new home. A new home where the winters aren't quite as hard and fierce as Wisconsin winters. Where we can sit outside on our porch or deck, listen to cows moo but not hear sirens blasting, people screaming or the sounds of continuous traffic. Peace and quiet will be the goal of each day.....well, as calm and quiet as it can be living with one daughter and two granddaughters (ages 5 and 7); however, so much looking forward to the new adventure.
The month of May brings us many monthly observances:
Arthritus Awareness Month
Better Hearing and Speech Month
Creative Beginnings Month (now, that's a good way to look at the changes coming up)
Get Caught Reading Month
National Egg Month
National Family Month
Plus too many others to list. Everyday is a day for celebration for one thing or another........
Take time to smell the flowers, especially the lilacs that are blooming right now.
