Bradford Beach will be under watch Memorial Day weekend and the Sheriff's Department will be on patrol at Milwaukee's lakefront.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the 80s throughout Memorial Day weekend, so grab a towel and some sunscreen and come on down to Bradford Beach.
Just make sure you behave.
That's the message from Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr., who said Friday his department will ensure that the thousands of people expected to descend on Milwaukee's lakefront this weekend can enjoy themselves without worrying about troublemakers.
"I don't expect people to sit on the ground with their hands folded on their laps and to whisper as they're talking," Clarke said. "It's the outdoors. They want to have fun. They do want to let loose. But there's a correct way of doing that, and the average person knows what that limit is. Some do not, because they don't possess those (social) skills. They'll be dealt with."
About 55 sheriff's deputies will keep an eye on the lakefront this weekend, and more will be assigned if needed, Clarke said. Deputies will patrol in squad cars, on foot and on bicycles, horses, motorcycles, jet skis and boats, he said.
Jet skis and boats......WOW! I didn't know the Sheriff's Department had fun water toys!
