Well, tomorrow, we have our first "lookers" for our house. As Grandpa was out making a minor repair on the "For Sale" sign, some people stopped in their car and wanted to know if they could see the house right then and there. Grandpa told them they needed to call our agent; her name and number are on the sign. When he came in and told me what just happened, we started whipping around the house straightening things up and waited for our agent to call. While doing so, I realized that it only took us about 1/2 hour to get things in order. All our hard work over the summer really paid off! We got rid of so much stuff that it practically cleans itself! What took us so long to get all those jobs done? This house and garage have been a mess (well, just really cluttered) for so many years. Grandpa hit it on the head when he said "laziness" and I would add "incentive". It's amazing what we can do when we realize that there is something better waiting for us.....our new house in Tennessee and retirement. And, if we don't set our minds to go for it NOW, nobody else will do it for us. But, on the other hand, as I sit here and type this, I look around and feel a tug at my heart about leaving our very first home. Our daughters grew up in this house....gee....Grandpa and I grew up in this house! But, we are off to make new memories in a new home and you know, that's ok. The time has come.
So tomorrow we pack up the dogs and take them for a ride for an hour while potential buyers take a look at what we have "built" here and hopefully like it!
