Gee, the gifts looked so pretty under the tree.....

Six kids and Christmas morning = one trashed livingroom, many, many bags of ripped wrapping paper and smashed bows, one broken nail (mine) trying to set one toy free from its packaging (really must have a word with those toy manufacturers) and many cups of coffee! We did make it through this year without Izzy smacking John; however she did claim his walking dinosaur and had a great time pushing the button and following it all over the house. Trinity and Maddie had a great time opening up gifts for the first time with their cousins....special hit of Christmas, the Polly's Cruise Ship (for Madison) which was quickly taken to a safe place to open and put together since its pieces are so itsy bitsy that they would have gotten snatched up with paper and bows (smart thinking on her Mom's part). A very special gift from Shelly was a musical photo slide show DVD of Trinity and Madison that she worked very hard to create on Grandma's new laptop while still back in Tennessee. Priceless!!!
It was the best Christmas ever! The next day Shelly, Becky and the four kids headed to visit Great-Grandma Schmidt up north. Monday is slotted to visit Great-Grandma Scherrer with Shelly and and girls. The weather was typical Wisconsin winter weather; little snow, little rain but all in all, it cooperated at the times we needed to travel. Tuesday will be a day of rest before Shelly starts her long trip back to Tennessee with the girls. We will definitely miss them terribly but a wonderful Christmas sure to remember!
Until next year......
