This is Snickers (a/k/a Snicks, a/k/a The "Snickinator"). Don't be fooled by that innocent little face....she's a great actress! In addition, Snickers is a professional 'pack-rat'. Here she is taking a little break in her bed in between the little 'search missions' she goes on around the house picking up whatever catches her eye and hauling it back into her bed to hide. Dirty socks, candy wrappers, paper clips, day-old dog biscuits, one of my expensive bamboo knitting needles (with the tip chewed off). That's just a few of the things we know about; what about what has disappeared and never to be found. The other day I was dumping out her bed (we have to do that periodically....it's for her own safety) and I found this.............
Yes, it's a puzzle piece and yes, as you can see, Snickers tried to eat it! I just started this puzzle about a week ago at the kitchen table on my puzzle board and one of the pieces must have fallen on the floor while I was moving it. I didn't hear it drop but I bet Snickers did as she seems to hear anything that hits the floor which includes, but not limited to, dry dog food, or milk bones. She has been known to come speeding into the kitchen, feet slipping and sliding on the floor, grab something while she is still moving, turn around and be gone in about 2 seconds flat! I have been tempted to clock her with a stop watch. She could hold a record for the "snatch-n-grab".
Needless to say, I was not too happy with Snickers when I found this puzzle piece......I mean, come on.....I just started the puzzle! I felt like tossing the puzzle, throwing in the towel and/or go buy a new one but upon a close inspection of the gnawed-on piece, I realized it was not that bad. It still had its colors and most of its shape; I should be able to still find where it belongs and it could still work. TA-DA!! And there it is....right where it belongs! I will keep going on my puzzle, Snickers gets a reprieve but something just hit me........
What if I get to the end and realize that piece wasn't the ONLY piece Snickers got her paws on.
