Advertising Avalanche!!

I opened the front door to retrieve the morning paper and this is what I found rolled up in a wet plastic bag..a 10 lb., 3 inch thick edition of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel! It's a sure sign that the 'holiday shopping season' has begun; as it was chocked full of sale ads for retail stores, upon retail stores. I had to dig through the pile of paper to find the front page....you know, the page that reports the NEWS! I haven't really looked through it yet and probably won't except to find the T.V. section and my daily puzzle. I really am not a fan of "Black Friday" except for maybe watching it on the evening news and shaking my head. It does make for good television. I know for some it is a tradition or a challenge to subject themselves to standing in line starting at 3:00 a.m. waiting for a store to open. I give them credit and if it gets them revved up for the holiday season, more power to them. I did it once years ago; stood in line at Best Buy to get a camera for Shelly for Christmas only for it to go on sale three weeks later at the same price. Have not done it since. I'll stay snug in my house, out of the nasty weather (cold and rainy), the fighting for parking spots, the pushing and shoving of other customers, the 'deer in the headlights' looks on the faces of the clerks and especially out of the traffic that will be clogging our streets. There is nothing that I NEED that urgently.........
Then again, there is that $197 laptop at Best Buy (Grandpa pointed that one out to me last night as he was surfing the net).
